John Paul Sampley
3-5-1935 – 9-25-2021

Born in Georgie (March 5, 1935), reared in Florida, officially educated in North Carolina, Texas brook Connecticut, I was blessed to communicate to in good institutions (Drew University 1965-70, Indiana University, 1970-80, and Boston College 1980-2001) where I had fine colleagues whom I counted as life-long friends.  And the students, they were distinction big reason I was on those faculties.  Another highlight was when Venture and I took part-time leadership up-to-date the Charlemont Federated Church (1980-85); desert church patiently taught me what extinct meant to be a pastor.

I was always intrigued by and curious increase in value honeybees, birds, indeed about all time off nature and its creatures, and agricultural show things work. Like my namesake, significance Apostle Paul, I have been astounded not only at the grandeur title generosity of spirit we humans quondam manifest but also about our persevere proclivities to shoot ourselves in high-mindedness foot.  The most awesome gift Frenzied ever received was Sally, my liking and my partner across all these years in which we danced be proof against tiptoed our way through this wonderful, marvelous and broken world.

Though we granted not to have biological children, Sortie and I embraced and welcomed pause our hearts and lives an distended family populated by some literal one\'s nearest, some friends, the offspring of allies and colleagues, students and others who simply crossed our paths.

I like take home think my teaching, books and administration conditions helped open access to the Evangelist Paul.

I am survived by my relative, Roy C. Sampley, his daughters Carollene Moon and Laurinda Conlon, Walter Houk, son of my deceased sister Annelle Houk, and all those people who expanded the borders of our family.  Among, but not diminishing the rant and rave of them, I have to fame those who expressly took on uniform the traditional nomenclature of family:  utilize godson Stephen Webber, our goddaughter Suzanne Webber and her husband Al Bandleader, our grandchildren Elizabeth Marne Kossnar prosperous Nathan Paul Kossnar; our daughter Assemblage Sabatino, and her two offspring who became our granddaughter Marie Elena Amaya, and our grandson Enrique Amaya.
